In this lab, you’ll experience a seamless “lift and shift” migration from an existing MongoDB database to Oracle Autonomous JSON Database (AJD) by using the MongoVibeAssist_Migrator CLI. Guided by Oracle Code Assist and interactive vibe coding, you will discover your source data, execute a full migration, and verify data integrity. Finally, you’ll repoint your original MongoDB application to Oracle’s MongoDB-compatible API, showing that your app runs unmodified on Oracle’s cloud platform. This hands-on lab highlights the simplicity, speed, and power of migrating to Oracle AI Database—no code rewrites required.

  • Lab 2 - Migrate to Oracle Autonomous JSON Database
  • Lab 3 - Validate and Run on Oracle AI Database
  • Familiarity with databases is desirable, but not required.
  • Some experience using or administering MongoDB is helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript is recommended for understanding the sample application.
  • Some understanding of cloud and general database concepts (e.g., connection strings, authentication, scalability) is helpful.
  • Familiarity with the command line (Linux, macOS, or Windows terminal) is recommended.
  • Ability to install and run CLI tools on your operating system.
  • An Oracle Cloud account with the ability to provision and access Autonomous JSON Database resources is required.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) console navigation is helpful, but not required.
  • Access to a MongoDB instance (local or cloud, can be provided as part of the lab).
