About This Workshop
In the era of digital transformation and heightened regulatory expectations, data security is no longer optional—it is a vital necessity. Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall (AVDF) is a robust solution that empowers organizations to safeguard their most valuable digital assets from both internal and external threats. With AVDF, your databases are protected through advanced auditing, real-time monitoring, and proactive defense mechanisms, all managed from a unified, streamlined interface.

Why Attend this LiveLab?

Do you worry about meeting complex compliance mandates such as PCI DSS, SOX, or GDPR? Are you tasked with defending your organization against sophisticated cyber threats while enabling business agility? This hands-on LiveLab is the perfect environment for data professionals, security administrators, and auditors to experience first-hand how AVDF helps organizations secure sensitive information, streamline compliance, and respond rapidly to suspicious activity—before damage is done.

What Problem Does AVDF Solve?

Modern database environments are highly dynamic and increasingly targeted by cyber attackers. Insiders with privileged access often represent the greatest risk, whether through error or deliberate misuse. Traditional logging and monitoring solutions frequently fall short—missing subtle policy violations or producing overwhelming volumes of raw data that are hard to interpret and act upon. Furthermore, regulatory auditors demand immediate, centralized, and immutable proof of how sensitive data is accessed and who is responsible.

AVDF bridges these gaps by:

- Centralizing and automating the collection, consolidation, and analysis of audit data from Oracle and non-Oracle databases.
- Delivering real-time monitoring and alerts to detect unusual or unauthorized SQL activity—down to the individual statement.
- Enforcing fine-grained controls at the network edge with the Database Firewall, blocking unwanted or suspicious commands before they can cause harm.
- Offering a rich suite of compliance-ready reports and dashboards for continuous assurance.

What You’ll Experience in this LiveLab

In this interactive session, you'll step into the shoes of a security analyst or compliance officer as you:

- Deploy and configure AVDF for both Oracle and non-Oracle database environments
- Set up real-time auditing policies and analyze collected data through intuitive dashboards
- Use the Database Firewall to enforce strong security controls, detect policy violations, and block malicious SQL traffic
- Respond to simulated threats, generate compliance reports, and implement best practices for the separation of duties

With guided exercises and real-world scenarios, you’ll gain practical skills you can immediately apply to your organization’s security and compliance strategy. No prior AVDF experience is required—just a willingness to learn and a desire to witness the power of Oracle’s database security solutions.
