    In this learning path, you learn how to configure and use the Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud for IoT automation of your business that depends on efficient management and utilization of connected assets.

    Scenario

    • Vision-Air manages and maintains movable and fixed location machines such as runway sweeper machines, forklifts, generators, fire trucks, and ambulances used in various operations of an airport. They would like to effectively monitor and manage all their assets by using an IoT solution. The IoT solution should enable them to acquire and analyze asset data in real-time, extract business-relevant insights, and then use those insights to drive business automation.

    Use Case

    • Configure Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud Service to automate the tracking, monitoring and management of the runway sweeper machines. The application should:

      • Raise a warning when the machine exceed the standard speed or leaves its standard geo-location.
      • Calculate the avg fuel level of sweepers and the sweeper engine breakdown from the incoming sensor data and display the metrics.
      • Generate an incident if it detects and anomaly in the sensor data.
      • Predict an engine breakdown in the next 24 hours and generate a warning.
      • Integrate with Oracle Maintenance Cloud for maintenance of assets.
      • Generate a work order in Oracle Maintenance Cloud when an engine malfunctions.

      To implement the use case, you perform four major tasks, and in each task you complete the steps sequentially:

      1. Get Started with Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud Service
        1. Customize Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring  Cloud Service
        2. Create simulated digital twins for the assets in the Oracle Digital Twin Simulator
        3. Configure the organization to create a place, review the asset types, and assets
           
      2. Configure Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud Service for Data Insights
        1. Create business rules for warnings and incidents
        2. Create external data sources
        3. Create key performance indicators (KPIs) for calculation of metrics
        4. Create anomalies for detecting abnormalities (fuel level and oil pressure) in sensor data
        5. Create predictions for engine failure
      3. Track and Monitor the Assets
        1. Visualize the assets and sub-assets
        2. Review and manage incidents, warnings and predictions
        3. Create, monitor and customize the KPI dashboard
      4. Automate the Management and Maintenance of Assets
        1. Integrate Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud with Oracle Maintenance Cloud
        2. Configure Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud for Automation
