Migrate a WebLogic Server domain from on-premises to WebLogic Server on OKE provisioned with the Marketplace. This workshop will guide you through the end-to-end migration of a WebLogic domain, along with the application database, to WebLogic on OKE. In this workshop, you will migrate a WebLogic domain with its applications and resources to Oracle Kubernetes Engine using a simulated on-premises environment. Provision the Weblogic Server on OKE and CI/CD infrastructure with the Marketplace and the Application Database on OCI Autonomous Database. Then, migrate the database from on-premises using data pump and the Weblogic domain applications and resources with Weblogic Deploy Tooling and Jenkins. Finally, tear down the environment.

  • Setup the Demo On-Premises Environment
  • Prepare the OCI account
  • Provision the Weblogic  Infrastructure
  • Provision the Application Database on OCI
  • Gather information about the DB VM on OCI
  • Migrate the application database
  • Migrate the Weblogic domain
  • Tear down the Environment
  • Familiarity with Weblogic is desirable, but not required
  • Familiarity with Database is desirable, but not required
  • Some understanding of cloud and database terms is helpful
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is helpful
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes is useful
